Context

Johnson’s Baby sought to develop a line of gift-with-purchase (GWP) and purchase-with-purchase (PWP) items that would appeal to a broad audience beyond just parents—friends, family, and baby shower attendees.

The challenge was to create functional, multi-use gifting solutions that aligned with consumer trends, quality and safety standards, and demographic insights—ensuring the collections were both practical and aesthetically desirable.

Action

I led the strategic and design development to ensure the collections resonated across key consumer groups:

  • Designed multi-use storage vessels and bath accessories that extended their value beyond gifting.

  • Curated a trend-driven aesthetic, incorporating soft pastels, tiny prints, and tactile materials to evoke warmth and calmness.

  • Addressed quality and safety standards, utilizing silicone and woven materials for durability and child-friendly use.

  • Developed product sketches and renders, creating a clear, visually compelling presentation with callouts highlighting trend research, demographic insights, and product functionality.

Result

The final collections delivered a ready-to-gift, shelf-ready solution that blended style, function, and consumer appeal:

  • Successfully aligned with multiple demographics, expanding beyond parents to include gift-givers.

  • Demonstrated thought leadership in trend forecasting, ensuring the collection felt relevant and timeless.

  • Strengthened brand positioning, reinforcing Johnson’s Baby as a thoughtful, design-forward brand in the baby care space.
